Built on integrity since 1967

Robert Hutton Inc. was founded in 1967 and has been laying block and brick across the Tallahassee region for more than five decades. What started as a local masonry outfit has grown into a trusted name general contractors across the Southeast call on by name.

Today the company is led by Robert Hutton, a second-generation mason born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. Robert grew up on the scaffold and learned the trade the way it should be learned — one course at a time — and he still runs the company by the values it was founded on.

Perla is a new student housing complex and parking garage developed by Zimmerman, located on Florida State University's campus along Gaines Street. This seven-story building will offer 220 units with 614 bedrooms and bathrooms, spanning approximately 359,904 square feet. Designed for student life, Perla includes a two-story concrete podium with five stories of wood construction above, housing amenities such as a 23,000-square-foot clubhouse with study rooms, a leasing office, and common areas, as well as 21,200 square feet of retail space for shopping and dining.

Attached to the complex, a seven-level pre-cast parking garage will add 610 parking spaces across 210,696 square feet, providing essential parking solutions for the FSU campus. Perla's strategic location and comprehensive facilities bring convenience, community, and modern living together, setting a new benchmark for student accommodations at FSU.

A nine-story community serving students at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. Hoar is serving as the general contractor on the more than $100 million project, developed by Park7 Group and slated for completion in the fall of 2028.

Icon Tallahassee will house 804 beds across one-bedroom studios to five-bedroom apartment layouts. Amenities will include a club room, study lounges, below-grade parking, bike and scooter storage, and a fitness center with a yoga studio. Icon will feature a rooftop pool deck lounge with views of Doak S. Campbell Stadium.
